Seit ich im Jahr 2000 meine erste Homepage online gestellt habe (damals noch mit freundlicher Genehmigung meines damaligen Providers lion.cc, der Pleite gegangenen Buch- und Internetsparte von Libro) hat sich nicht nur die Welt weitergedreht, sondern auch zahllose Platten und CDs, die seither den Weg in meine Plattenschränke bzw. CD-Regale gefunden haben.
Auch wenn ich gerne über alle Tonträger schreiben würde (und mir fällt zu jeder Scheibe mitunter sehr viel ein!) ist das aus Zeitgründen leider nicht möglich. Deshalb beschränke ich mich weitgehend auf Raritäten, Kurioses und zu Unrecht längst Vergessenes. (Bewertungsnoten von 1-10; 1: Sondermüll, 10: neue Maßstäbe setzendes bzw. genrebildendes Meisterwerk)
Grundsätzlich soll dieser Blog dazu dienen, all das musikalische (teilweise natürlich auch unnütze) Wissen, dass sich im Zuge von über 30 Jahren Plattensammeln angesammelt hat, mit allen Interessierten zu teilen. Andererseits dient es mir persönlich auch als eine Art Tagebuch, in dem ich etwa nachlesen kann, wann ich auf einem Schlag über 90 Reggae-Singles Made in Jamaica von einer älteren Frau am Flohmarkt zu einem unschlagbaren Preis erworben habe (Flohmarkt Neubaugasse Wien, 14.05.2004) oder zuletzt Massive Attack live gesehen habe (Wien, Gasometer, 2.11.2009). Weiters ist es beim Durchlesen von alten Rezensionen auch spannend zu sehen, wie sich Geschmack, Gesichtspunkte etc. über die Jahre verändert haben bzw. immer wieder zeitgenössische Verweise auf einstige Medienereignisse, Politik etc. auftauchen.
Bei passender Aktualität (z.B. Fußball-WM, Geburtstage etc.) werden ausgewählte Beispiele speziell präsentiert.
